12 Inch Alpine R Type Subwoofer, Custom Box Build
August 29, 2009 - 4:16 am
A 12 Inch Alpine Type-R Subwoofer built into a custom install. Running of Home hi-fi, giving vocals as well as bass, so much air that my shisha charcoal blew off onto the floor.

yeah i agree with …
yeah i agree with dougie730 any lil lil bit of flexing wouldn’t really make a difference as long as it’s not leaking that’s all that really maters… and the size of his port makes a big difference too…

do u understand y …
do u understand y they use plexi glass is for flex so it flex”s with the bass and it holds its sound so it really is good and maybe bad if there is air coming out of the corners or where the wood meets together that could cause db loss.

No that is no …
No that is no problem, if you put something on the box and it vibrates, then it isn’t strong enough.
The stronger the box, the less flex, the less flex, the more dB’s.
A box can look solid, but it can be really weak.

i think your wrong …
i think your wrong there.. it could possibly more than likely be the home audio setup doesnt work that well with car audio..
his box looked like it was solid.

You’re just provin …
You’re just provin that you didn’t made you’re box strong enough.
You’re losin a few dB’s by that.
My first box also wasn’t strong enough, i underestimated the woofer.(only a 3/4 inch wood al around, no bracing.)
Now it’s doubled and it’s braced with a few pieces of MDF.

better topends …
better topends tweeters and crossovers u need for that woofer/box set up
also inside house , put woofer box onto conrete slab, you feel the bass better and less distortion
