Make sure the speakers are that type(free-air). Those type of enclosures should have a box with no board in the middle, as opposed to other woofers that NEED a board for max output. Also, check the manufacturer for the correct size of the enclosure. References :

dont do it.. it will sound better in a box alot better

I assume that you mean free air (no box). These subwoofers will give you bass but will always lack low end
