How much it is to fix a brake light?

I’ve bumped the brake light on my wife’s new Vauxhall Corsa into a lamppost. The red plastic on the fog light has cracked off. About how much should I expect to pay to replace presumably the whole light enclosure? Also, is it legal in the meantime to tape the red plastic bits back into place?
If you tape it so that the light is showing correctly at the rear i don’t think that the police would stop you on the road but the car wouldn’t pass MOT with it taped up.You need to buy the whole lamp.It will cost you the price of a 2 pairs of new shoes for your wife

Legally it is not allowed to drive with a damaged light so if you get stopped by a new by the book maniac you may have trouble, as for the cost t should be around £50 to £80 , but take a look on ebay first you may find one second hand or a breakers near you.

legal to use red tail light tape which would be a few hundred bucks cheaper than the plastic lens

go on ebay for a replacement as lomg as you dont show a white light to the rear (temporary) and your brake light & lights and indicator works then ok to drive
