1) Powermac g5’s …
1) Powermac g5’s are at least 4 years old by now, which means, if you bought two, you bought used.
2) If you bought a iMac and it KP, try figuring out what caused the KP. if it was on the first day, you were probably installing software, drivers, plugins or even uncertified RAM.

1) Plastic sleeves …
1) Plastic sleeves are good because plastic is cheap and expendable. That doesn’t make plastic stronger or better to make a computer case out of because plastic tends to crack, discolor and warp over time. It also insulates heat instead of conducting it away from the internals.
2) Did someone say aluminum was indestructible or something?
3) I carry my aluminum macbook around in one hand all the time. I can’t imagine the 800lb gorilla-like grip it would take to dent it by picking it up.

If the uni-body …
If the uni-body design is suppose to be so great, then why cover it in plastic. I think internal design of MBP can certainly be designed better. For Example, Lenovo Thinkpads have an internal frame surrounding a majority of the parts, this includes the LCD screen. They also have a spill resistant keyboard. All in all I like OSX, however when talking about laptop quality they are lacking in this area when compared to Lenovo.

So I will keep …
So I will keep rolling with a WONDERFUL XPS quadcore that NEVER crashes any of the adobe suite or anything.
Keep in mind 2 things !
1) Mac is new to intell’s and Rosetta so they are having hiccups with that.
2) leopard is best with Intell/rosetta so everyone is pumping leopard on older macs with G5 etc (ibm) and that is shakey as ….hahahahahahaha mac !

Apple is good at …
Apple is good at making money off blindly loyal fanboys, granted their operating system isn’t complete and utter , their computers are pretty much cheap pc’s put into pretty little bendable cases, where all the fanboys go ooo and ahh, when I could buy a pc with near same specs at 500$ with material that will actually PROTECT the computer.
Good video.

It is a warranty …
It is a warranty covered part, not “was”. Typo.
July 21st, 2009 at 6:34 am
It depends.
It was …
It depends.
It was a warranty covered part, but not for damage (”abuse”).
Apple could do whats called a “Tier 4″, where they basically say, you abused this computer, its your fault. The charge there is $1400; however, it does cover ALL damage. So you could get a cracked display, unibody, hard drive, etc etc etc, all for that $1400. Sometimes its worth it, sometimes not.
Out of warranty, cost should be the same as I mentioned above, or close to it.

How much would it …
How much would it cost from apple to replace the unibody?
July 21st, 2009 at 6:34 am
The replacement …
The replacement cost of a unibody (called a top case internally), is about $300-200. I’ve done a few of these already.
The glass panel is “glued” to the rest of the display unit, and is nearly impossible to remove without breaking the glass. We’ve had some luck with a hair drier however to heat the glue though.

nothing is perfect, …
nothing is perfect, just slightly better than the other, but even then, u can argue that, lets compare one with the other, so the metal casing of dell adamo vs macbook air, the plastics of the white macbook with a comparable windows machine.

lol, well…it …
lol, well…it takes a lot to damange the unibody macbooks, in terms of DENTS, i have small ish dents on my unibody macbook, and i was just TOTALLY CARELESS, but thats the same with pc laptops, CARELESSNESS.lol. but its not just macs, look at the Dell Adamo, which is my FAVOURITE DESIGNED WINDOWS BASED LAPTOP. i so want to get that, and thats built in a simliar way to the unibody macbooks.
