Kit is finally ready. This is the DX1 with 7″ LED display. Over 650 electronic components.
Color embly manual, audio test tone CD, AC power supply and enclosure included.
Touch sensor input for external mode toggle. Example would be subwoofer grill in autosound installation.

Can someone on this blog that has built one of these contact me and ist me in building one of these with a twist, I want to use LED Strips instead. Gavincurtis said you can use strips but somethings have to be changed to make it work. I am a quick learner and would love to build one of these.

I ran out of parts but did relist the kit on ebay once they have been restocked. Try “VU meter kit” on ebay search field. It has been there for a couple of weeks now.

NEVER compress audio to compensate; simply make the amplifier better.

Very true. But …
Very true. But this will isolate a peak saturating your amplifier when the VU can’t!
Gotta have one, or the other; best to have both. On top of all that is a good set of ear(s).

Yeah it’s pretty groovy, but it’s not a VU meter!. It’s a PPM meter. VU meters show an average output, which this doesn’t.
