i am planning to buy a new subwooer for my new sedan will enclosure type suits it will want an answer soon regarding it.
am planning to buy a new subwooer for my new sedan, will enclosure type suits it, i am having an alpineee system in it planning to buy a 1200watts sub will want an answer soon regarding it
since it is going in a car it will be in the trunk, which means that you will not really be able to hear the "lack" of sound quality. so i would go with a ported box because they hit harder,
and since it is a new car i would not throw anything too outrageous in the trunk because it will slowly tear the car apart (loosen nuts and bolts making it rattle and squeak, happened to my new car) and don’t forget the Dynamat http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=181250&i=15410135&search=Dynamat+VENDORID154&searchdisplay=Dynamat&tp=2277

I am going to buy the Kenwood bass package (KAC-5203 2-channel amplifier and two 2-W110S 10" 8-ohm subwoofers) at Cruthfield and I was wondering what size box should I get for my two ten inch subs. Will any dual ten inch enclosures work? And does it matter if its vented or sealed?
In the manual for the subs it should give you a recomended box size in liters. Get as close to this size as possible for best performance (most boxes are normally close to the same literage)
Ported is best for these kind of systems,
Sealed is normally for deeper high powered systems

i need a custom sub woofer enclosure for 2 10 "inch orion hcca , can anybody please help me.
If u need a custom enclosure u should go see a local car audio place because most of the good ones deal with a woodworker who builds custom ones. Most of the enclosure that u see online are decent but aren’t the best. However a custom enclosure and cost a good amount of money, but remember u get what u pay for.

Also:
do you have any website with Dual sub enclosure designs?
Those who have my sub say that it works best with 2.5cuft ported for a single 12"..it’s a sub that plays well with a bigger box. It’s an Asian brand sub, and i’ve been to many EB’s and the sub is bang for the buck..these subs have placed in many competitions. If 1 sub requires 2.5cuft..would that mean that 2 subs would require 5cubic feet??
Thanx for the replies.
Each sub will get 2.5 cu.ft and each in it’s own camber.
This should be of some help http://spkrbox1.spaces.live.com

I have been looking at the infinity Kappa’s, I will build a enclosure to fit the speaker. I will buy an amp to meet the subs specs. Im running 6.5" component kappa perfects in the front. I want clean tight bass, dont care if anybody else hears it.
infinity is good. also polk. both arent real heavy bass good quality. and you can get both in sets, 2 10s or 12s in a box that goes with the subs for around $350

my dad had the idea make it completely out of plexi glass but i was reading and someone said plexi glass wont seperate high and low waves so my box would just vibrate…and sound horrible? is that true? where can i find more info on the topic and tips on how to build?
Stick with MDF. Plexiglas is extremely difficult to work with and it scratches easily.

I’m trying to put 2 12’s in the back of my minivan (yeah, i know…)…but i’m wondering how much space I need between the rear "trunk/hatch" and the actual box w/ subs pointing at it. If the box is put right at the edge, then there’ll be literally like less than a foot for spacing. So I’m wondering if it’d be better to place them further forward towards the driver/passenger seats. Will placing them too close cause excessive rattle and bad bass in general? I hope I’ve made this question clear enough and appreciate your responses, thanks.
Facing them towards the tailgate, and having them that close to the tailgate will absolutely create excessive rattling. Easy cure for this is to reinforce the inside of the tailgate and behind the license plate with Dynamat or some other sound deadening material.
As for the spacing itself, check what the XMax is for the subwoofers you have. Most subwoofers have an XMax (maximum excursion) of 3" or less which means the subwoofers themselves will likely not move more than 1.5" away from the enclosure. Having them 4"-12" from the tailgate will not adversely affect the performance of the subwoofers. Facing them straight up would be your best bet, but if you do not have the space, face them into the rear seat if you’d like. Facing them into the rear seat would be the simplest solution to your problem.

Overpowering the sub just to see how far it goes….at the end of video, coils were warm and I could smell it….Blaupunkt 18″ vpw 460 running of RF t20001bd in a custom boot enclosure made by galen to fit in febs white nissan cefiro a32…sub is connected to 1 ohm and is getting atleast 2kw+ if not more…The custom box is far from complete, There is a top cover to go on so none of the box will be seen, it will also give a big flat boot area.
